Riccardo Bisin, PhD student at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of Politecnico di Milano, was selected by the Education Office of the European Space Agency to attend the 70th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) (Washington, D.C. 21-25 October 2019) within the frame of the ISEB (International Space Education Board) Student Participation Programme 2019.
The ISEB Programme is organized by an international committee representing the agencies AEM, ESA, CSA, CNES, JAXA, KARI, NASA, SANSA, UAESA and VSSEC and enables a selected list of students to meet the major stakeholders of the aerospace community.
Riccardo Bisin will present at the conference the new outcomes of his PhD research activity, focused on the development of green and affordable fuel formulations for rocketry applications.
Riccardo and the Space Propulsion Laboratory of Politecnico di Milano (SPLab-POLIMI) are currently exploiting the use of purposely 3D-printed structures to enhance the mechanical and ballistic performance of paraffin-based fuels for chemical-hybrid propulsion.
