Since 1610 when Galileo pointed his telescope to Jupiter and found the famous four moons, the giant planet was the subject of curiosity.
In 2023, ESA pursed this interest by launching its large class mission JUICE from Kourou. After a long interplanetary cruise, the spacecraft will carefully analyse Jupiter, its moons and the system as a whole.
A total of 35 flybys are planned, followed by the insertion around Ganymede.
Arnaud Boutonnet and its team designed the trajectory.
