23 August 2022 — 0 minutes read
Our PhD student Alessandro Cocco won the second prize in the Best Student Paper Award for the work "Flexible Multibody Model of a Complete Tiltrotor for Aeroservoelastic Analysis" (co-authored with Alberto Savino and Pierangelo Masarati) in the #MSNDC Technical Committee at the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) #IDETC/#MSNDC conference in St Louis, Missouri.
At the conference, our Andrea Zanoni chaired the special session on Nonlinear Rotordynamics and Rotating Systems presenting the paper "Stability of Rotorcraft Ground Resonance by Estimating Lyapunov Characteristic Exponents From Multibody Dynamics" co-autored with Gianni Cassoni, Pierangelo Masarati and Aykut Tamer.
Short bio
Alessandro Cocco, born in Italy in 1994, earned a M.S degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 2019 at Politecnico di Milano. He is currently a PhD student at the Aerospace Science and Technology Department of Politecnico di Milano, working at the FRAME-Sim laboratory. His main research topics are tiltrotor whirl flutter and bioaeroservoelastic investigation of adverse pilot-rotorcraft couplings. Currently, he is participating at the ATTILA and FORMOSA CleanSky-2 projects as a multibody analysts.
